A catch-all e-mailbox is one that collects all the messages sent to inactive addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody misspells it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one single mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss messages because the other party has an out-of-date email address or has made a typo. The downside of setting up a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of junk email messages, but this issue can be fixed by using an anti-spam filtering solution. It’s also crucial to know that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot forward incoming emails to a third-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting
Configuring a catch-all e-mailbox will be surprisingly easy in case you have a website hosting service with us. You can enable this option through our powerful, albeit user-friendly Email Manager, which is integrated into the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you will administer your web hosting account. You’ll see all the mailboxes that you’ve set up enumerated in alphabetical order and to the right of each one of them there will be a mini "Catch-all" icon, which will immediately tell you if a particular mailbox stores all the messages for a given domain or not. With one single click on the icon you can enable or disable the feature whenever you like. If there’s active email forwarding or if a different mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a specific domain, you’ll receive a warning note from our system. The latter will not replace/disable anything automatically and without your permission.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The catch-all option can be activated effortlessly in case you have a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you’ve created using the domains hosted in your semi-dedicated server account will be shown in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you will find a mini symbol conveniently located right next to each of them. With only a single click of the mouse, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your preference as long as there isn't another mailbox under the same domain with this option already activated and there isn't activated email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and activate the feature using the context menu that will appear. If any of the requirements for creating a catch-all mailbox is not satisfied, our system will let you know, but will not deactivate or replace anything automatically.
